Santa Verna Temple
The remains of Santa Verna Temple lie to the north west of the village where only a group of three upright megaliths survive in situ. The three horizontal blocks lining the east side of the uprights are similar to the high bench on the facades of some of the major temples. This means that there might have been another temple at Santa Verna, one built before Ggantija. Due to its great antiquity, the place might have been an extremely important site for Maltese prehistory but very little survive to gauge its importance. The place-name is derived from a chapel dedicated to Saint Venera that once stood in the area.
